The Tardis landed with a gentle bump, Lily smiled and put down her magazine, Ryan, who'd snapped out of his trance when the tardis console had started to pour smoke out of it, looked at the Doctor, 'Where are we?' he asked.
'We are at Woodstock!' the doctor said smiling 'thought this would be a Ryan kind of thing!'
'Yeah Buddy!' Ryan said and wooped and the doctor smiled.
'What, you guys were arguing this morning!' Lily said 'and now your acting like best friends!' she laughed and shook her head.
'We just fought demon pixies together!' The Doctor exclaimed like saying just this should explain everything but still Lily's face had a bemused expression on it.
'There's some thing's Lily that two people can't do together without becoming best friends, fighting demon pixies is one of those things!' Ryan said raising his eyebrows.
Lily rolled her eyes and stepped towards the Tardis door, the boys followed her and she opened it slowly, outside it seemed like an explosion of colour. Hippies were dotted everywhere, setting up tents, walking around, sat on the floor and some who looked like they may have taken something illegal were passed out in the middle of the field.
'Wow!' Ryan exclaimed pushing past Lily 'wow, wow, wow!!' He was like an excited kid in a sweetshop looking at everyone and everything and he just seemed to breath in the essence of what was going on like a child would breath in the smell of chocolate. The doctor ambled out of the Tardis with a big grin on his face and put his arm around Lily's shoulder,
'Well, this is going to be fun!' he said pointing at Ryan who was trying to buy some kind of bracelets from a woman who was the epiphamy of hippy.
'You didn't just bring us here for Ryan's sake did you?' Lily asked looking at the doctor. His face and arm fell,
'No...it's quite worrying actually but I piched up a distress signal...and well I thought we should check it out,'
'Just don't tell Ryan, let him think you thought of this idea all by yourself, he's always wanted to come here, it's been like his dream, he loves hippies and festivals and drinking and basically this era.' Lily said and she started following Ryan who was wondering off, the doctor followed 'so just let him think that you did this for him and then if this 'alien' or whatever it is turns up then it can be a kind of surprise for him' The doctor nodded,
'Hey guys look at this!' Ryan shouted turning back to them and beckoning them over, 'it's like some kind of fortune teller type thing!'
'That's because it is a fortune teller' Lily said reading the sign above the door,
'oh my gosh lets get our fortunes told!' Ryan said rushing into the tent, Lily rolled her eyes and looked at the doctor who was frowning at the sign above the door,
'what? What is it?' Lily asked frowning at him,
'We need to get Ryan out of there now' he said, turning Lily's blood cold, she rushed into the tent and screamed, Ryan was stood eyes wide open staring at a woman who had something she didn't know what but it was definitely alien coming out of her mouth. It looked like a giant green worm with spikes on it and it was heading straight for Ryan, Lily grabbed his hand and pulled him away and the doctor came rushing in, he zapped the creature with something and it fell to the ground.
'Did you kill it?' Lily asked, her heart was beating so fast and her grip on Ryans hand was tight,
'No! don't be stupid if I'd killed it then how would I know if there were more!' he said 'it's momentarily stunned,' As these words passed his lips the creature started to stir and eventually went back into the woman.
'Who are you?' the woman rasped in a voice that sent shivers down Lily's spine.
Ryan who had been deadly quiet the whole time blurted out 'No! Who the hell are you!?'
The creature laughed 'I am Ninrancos Empress of the Bractores'
'Oh!' The Doctor said, 'We've met before! Except I'm different and you're older and....hang on why are you here of all places why here?'
'I have come to collect human flesh for my people' Ninrancos rasped.
'Oh well isn't that swell' Lily said
'No, you aren't allowed to do this and you know you aren't!' The doctor said. Ninrancos just laughed,
'who's going to stop me?'
'The Doctor' Ryan said, Ninrancos' laughter stopped and Ryan looked pleased that he'd been the cause of this.
'No it cannot be!' Ninrancos said staring at the doctor 'oh but it is....this is not good not good at all!'
And with that the creature slid out of it's human disguise and pulled a lever in the back of the tent, a door sealed it off away from them and a pod ejected out into the sky and away from earth,
'I got rid of it!' Ryan said smiling, 'That was down to me that was!'
They left the tent and headed to listen to some live music, Ryan and the Doctor were having a great time dancing around like loonatics and enjoing everything but something was bugging Lily, 'Doctor' she whispered to him 'what about the distress call?' she asked
'There was no distress call...I just had a bad feeling' The doctor said and then laughed when he saw Lily's face, she started laughing as well and then they joined Ryan who was still dancing round like a maniac
